This year’s Battle of Malta is going to feature a €5,000 buy-in super high roller event for the very first time. The Mega High Stack will be a two-day event kicking off on Wednesday, October 16 at 9pm. Day 2 will continue the next day at 2pm.
The tournament comes with unlimited re-entries and is certain to attract some of Malta’s locally-based high rollers as well as visiting players. Among those planning to compete is 888 Ambassador Sofia Lovgren. The Swedish-born pro used to live in Malta and finished 19thin last year’s Main Event.
Battle of Malta Event Director Diane Fenech said: “We’re very excited about hosting an event of this size at Battle of Malta. A lot of players like to play at this level and we want to ensure that this year’s Battle of Malta has something for everyone – including high rollers.”
All Mega High Stack players get a 30,000 starting stack with 40 minute blind levels. Registration will be open until the start of Day 2. This year’s schedule also includes Battle of Malta’s regular €1,200 High Roller event. The three-day tourney, which also features unlimited re-entries, gets underway on Sunday, October 20 with the final being held at the same time as the Main Event final on Tuesday, October 22. Players get a 40,000 stack with 40 minute blind levels.
