Sadly, his quest for a repeat is no longer.
Lots of ups and downs for him today. He lost half his stack of 218k little by little but then managed to double up to get back to ~ 200k.
Then a guy in middle position raised, Proust went all-in with pocket 10s (he covering the other guy), but the villain had Aces.
Left crippled, Nicolas lost his next coin-flip to survive with A-Q vs … the 10s again.
And that was it.
Still, no regrets for Nicolas as he’s happy about how he played during the tournament.
And “you need the cards to reach final table, especially for doing it twice!”
Nothing sure yet but after going for some food he will consider entering the High Roller later today.
Gilboa Gone, Too
With Uri Gilboa now out we’ve lost another former Battle of Malta finalist.
The garegarious Israeli was down to a handful of big blinds and found Q♠ J♠ in early position.
He shoved all-in and it was folded to the big blind, Alessio Bergamo. The Italian looked at his cards, found A♥ J♠ and had an easy call.
The better hand held and Gilboa, who finished 4th three years ago, is gone.
