Well, big. Quite big. Even very, very big.

As we mentioned earlier in the month 2018 Battle of Malta package sales surpassed all of the previous years combined.

That’s a lot of packages. So the inkling is that we’ll easily surpass last year’s record of 2,074 entries.

A few other signs we’ll hit a record field:

€1 Million Guarantee (double last year’s)
Room for more than 140 tables in the tournament room
11 registration points
More online qualifiers than ever before
Unlimited re-entries
Four Day 1 flights including a Day 1d Turbo flight Saturday at 8pm

A look at past BoM attendance also indicates the upward curve will remain an upward curve:

We’re hesitant to put an estimated number on the tournament field (we’re committed to facts here) but we wouldn’t be surprised if over, say, 900,000 players hit the BoM this year. And the prize pool could hit 1.6 billion or so.

Fair guess, yeah?

We’ll let the final tally by the end of Day 1d speak for itself, we guess, but in the meantime we’ll start getting the duffel bags ready for the winners to take their gigantic stacks of bills home.
