Nearly €1.2M Prize Pool! Hurry, 30 Minutes Remaining to Hop Into Main Event 31 May 12:40 by Jason Glatzer

Battle of Malta Tournament Room

The final opening flight in the 2026 Battle of Malta Summer Edition Main Event, in the turbocharged €600 Day 1g, headed into its final level before late registration closes with 437 entries in the field and 256 players remaining. This has brought the prize pool up to €1,184,969 and counting, with a good chance of the final prize pool surpassing €1.2 million. Either way, the €700,000 guarantee was smashed more than 24 hours ago, and now it’s just gravy on top for those who cash in the 2026 Battle of Malta Summer Edition Main Event.

If you wanted to play, hurry up if you don’t have your bag, as late registration will close in less than 30 minutes. As a reminder, Day 2 will begin at 7 p.m. and play for six one-hour blind levels. Players are also encouraged to head down to Paranga Beach for the BoM Players Party from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Galvin Wins Ladies Event; Vestertas and Sarris Top Main Event Flights with Day 2 on Horizon as Prize Pool Tops Seven-Figures 31 May 10:25 by Richard Hayes

Mary Galvin

There was barely a spare chair in the house at Casino Malta on Day 3 of the Battle of Malta 2026 Summer Edition, as hordes of players arrived for another packed schedule of tournaments.

Chips flew in all directions, with the Ladies Event and Days 1e and 1f of the Main Event taking center stage. Irish eyes were smiling, as Mary Galvin emerged as the Ladies Champion, banking €1,970, and a €555 ticket to the OlyBet Queens of Tallinn Event in August, in the process.

In the Main Event, Marian Klitchev of Bulgaria (1,520,000) topped almost 1,000 runners in Day 1e, while Dimitrios Sarris of Greece (603,000) bagged biggest in Day 1f, as the €700,000 guarantee was comfortably exceeded. The final starting flight kicked at 10 a.m. today, May 31, and the prize pool has just topped the seven-figure mark, currently standing at a huge €1,031,523. Day 2 qualifiers will return at 7 p.m., when the final figures and payouts will be known.

There were also side event victories for Richard Burke in the H.O.R.S.E event, and there was a chop between Italian Fabiano Montanaro and Christos Thomas of Greece in the Hyper Turbo.

Another extensive menu of tournaments awaits, and players who do not find a bag for Day 2 of the Main Event can get their teeth into a slate of side events, including a PokerHouse NLH tournament, PLO 4/5 card, and netwin Bounty event. Meanwhile, the €1,100 buy-in Star Yes High Roller event features a huge €200,000 guarantee.

€600 Main Event Days 1e-1f Recap

Battle of Malta Tournament Room

As expected, Day 1e drew the biggest crowd thus far, and the tournament room was a sea of heads, with every table occupied. A total of 991 entries were logged, which meant 149 players qualified for Day 2.

Lithuanian Ugnius Vestertas bagged a seven-figure stack of 1,010,000 to take the overall tournament lead, and he was followed by Ugnius Vestertas of Lithuania (1,010,000) and Brit Robert McAdam (973,000). McAdam has been in hot form in 2026, racking up a string of top-three finishes in major mid-stakes events, and is a name to watch.

In Day 1f, a further 288 entries were collected, and Dimitrios Sarris (603,000) ended up at the front of the queue of 22 qualifiers, followed by Veaceslaw Jumir of Moldova (577,000) and Fabrizio Pillitteri (486,000). Vestertas and Sarris, as with all Day 1 chip leaders, also earned themselves a package to the Battle of Malta Slovakia Edition.

Defending champion Adrian Ziemichod of Poland (462,000) and former champion Dario Barone of Italy (153,000) are in the running for a historic double, while plenty of other notables are in the mix, including Latvian Matiss Celmins (531,000) and Mihai Nistor of Romania (452,000). With the final starting flight still to be completed, 288 players have now qualified for Day 2.

Ludvigsen Comes up Short; Play has Concluded 31 May 02:16 by Christoffer

Main Event Day 1e
Level 18: 6,000/12,000 (12,000)
Entries: 149/991
Prize Pool: €970,244

Before the floor even had the chance to announce hand-for-hand play, there were two all-in-and-call situations at two different tables.

First, at Table 10,Christou Christos open-shoved 100,000 on the dot from the Hi-jack. Renato Messina re-shoved for roughly 510,000 from the Small Blind, and the two of them were soon heads-up to the flop

Christou Christos: A6
Renato Messina: AJ

It was looking very likely that Christos would become the bubble boy. Things weren’t looking any better on the Q92 flop, but the 6 saw Christos being fileld to the brim with joy. The 2 didn’t see Messina reclaim the driver’s seat, and Christos managed to double up at this, to say the least, crucial moment.

All focus then switched to Table 20. There, Gareth Hamilton opened to 25,000 from the Hi-jack, and Tormod Ludvigsen defended his Big Blind. Ludvigsen check-called 25,000 from Hamilton on the 833 flop. Ludvigsen checked again on the 9 turn; Hamilton now forced his opponent all in for 67,000, and Ludvigsen snap-called.

Gareth Hamilton: A3
Tormod Ludvigsen: KQ

Ludvigsen was ahead with the flush, but, as we all know, poker can be a brutal game at times. The 9 river saw Hamilton improving to a full house, and Ludvigsen was eliminated in onehundred-fiftieth place. To make matters worse, tablemate Rasmus Lundström admitted to folding ace-three pre-flop.

With that, the remaining 149 players are now bagging their chips. They will return tomorrow at 19:00 when Day 2 commences, and they’re all in the money. The Day 1e flight was the biggest one so far with 991 entries, and it was under this flight the €700,000 guarantee was completely smashed (with some help from the still ongoing 1f turbo flight). With one more flight to go (1g, which starts tomorrow, May 31, at 10:00), it’s very likely the prize pool will exceed €1,000,000.

Thanks to everyone who’s been following along with today’s live coverage; stay tuned for the Day 1e chip counts.

Gareth Hamilton: 575,000
Renato Messina: 405,000
Christou Christos: 224,000
Tormod Ludvigsen: 0

Go Fish 31 May 01:25 by Christoffer

€600 Main Event Day 1e
Level 16: 4,000/8,000 (8,000)
Entries: 161/991
Prize Pool: €970,244

Action folded to Rasmus Lundström, who opened to 16,000 from the Lo-jack. After a 36,000 three-bet from Francesco Sala in the Cut-off, Tormod Ludvigsen moved all in for 62,000 on the Button. The Blinds and Lundström all mucked before Sala made the call.

Tormod Ludvigsen: JJ
Francesco Sala: 66

The KTK8A board offered a smooth runout for the fishhooks, and Ludvigsen won a considerable pot, seeing as the bubble is approaching at rapid pace.

Tormod Ludvigsen: 139,000
Francesco Sala: 30,000

Action folded to David Duggan, who open-shoved 79,000 on the Button. Gabriel Rymar then re-shoved roughly 350,000 from the Small Blind. Seated in the Big Blind, Aljosa Kobale peeked at his hole cards, then committed his 164,000 stack to make the call.

David Duggan: JJ
Gabriel Rymar: 66
Aljosa Kobale: AK

An intriguing one, and the 23T flop brought some excitement. The fishhooks of Duggan didn’t favor from the 6, while Kobale improved to the nut flush and Rymar to a set. The 9 didn’t pair the board; Duggan was out, while Kobale more than doubled, at the great expense of Rymar.

Aljosa Kobale: 415,000

Action was checked to Peter on the 288 flop, and he continued for 18,000. Amenta and Skingley both called, prior to Ziemichod raising to 65,000. Peter went deep into the tank, thinking for a good two minutes before folding. Amenta and Skingley let go of their hands fairly swiftly.

“I folded kings,” Peter claimed as Ziemichod added chips to his already impressive stack.

“Show!” tablemate Milos Babovic urged Schleinitz. “No,” Schleinitz declined. “Yes, please don’t show,” Pischedda agreed. That tempted Schleinitz; he decided to table his QJ bluff. What a rascal.

Di Caprio check-called 15,000 on the J42 flop. He check-called 40,000 on the 3 turn, then another 40,000 on the K river.

Cutajar tabled AK; Di Caprio’s body language indicated that he was ahead all the way up ’til the river, but, in the end, the pot belonged to Cutajar.

Richard Burke Wins €250 H.O.R.S.E. 30 May 22:35 by Jason Glatzer

The United Kingdom’s Richard Burke emerged victorious in the €250 H.O.R.S.E. after a dramatic and entertaining heads-up battle against Germany’s Sascha Manns, following the elimination of Italy’s Fabio Miraglia in third place for €700.

The final duel had everything you could hope for: experienced competitors, momentum swings, light-hearted table talk, and an engaged rail. Christoffer Karlen followed the action closely, catalogging key moments as the match unfolded.

Both players found themselves short-stacked at different stages in a gripping back-and-forth contest. Manns held a slight advantage late on, but with the blinds escalating, he ran into trouble in a crucial hand during Stud h/l. Burke made a flush while also holding a stronger low, denying Manns what he hoped would be a split pot.

Moments later, still during Stud h/l and blinds about to increase, the tournament reached its climax. Manns appeared to seize control on Seventh Street, improving to a pair of jacks against Burke’s nines. However, Burke still had one card to come, and found exactly what he needed, spiking two pair with nines and sixes to seal a memorable victory.

With that, Burke claimed the €1,760 top prize, while Manns settled for a well-earned €1,055 runner-up finish.

During a round of Limit Hold ‘Em, Davide Caramia (the shortest stack) opened to 25,000, leaving himself with a mere 2,000 behind. Action folded to chip leader Sascha Manns, who forced his opponent all in from the Big Blind. Caramia made the call.

Sascha Manns: 84

Caramia was ahead, but Manns picked up a gutshot straight draw on the T65 flop. He received additional outs on the 3 turn, and the 2 river ultimately sealed the deal. As such, Caramia bubbled, and the remaining three players are now in the money. They are competing for a €1,760 first-place prize.

All three players checked the 88Q flop. Pontos bet 9,000 on the 6 turn, and both of his opponents made the call. The 3 river action would turn out to be quite intriguing; Pontos checked, Milone bet 16,000, Ludvigsen moved all in for 9,800, and Pontos then made it 60,000. Milone leaned back in his chair, gesturing, “What is going on?” Eventually, he mucked his hand. “Nice hand,” Ludvigsen said, and was getting ready to leave the table; he did not think he was good, and who could blame him? Both players were forced to reveal their cards, though.

Schleinitz check-called another 3,000 from Dahl on the QTK flop. Action repeated itself on the J river, the only difference being that the sizing from Dahl was now 20,000. The J river meant there were only premium cards on the board. Now, Schleinitz led out for 20,000. Dahl relieved a heavy sigh before making the call.

Schleinitz tabled TT for a rivered full house. “Yeah, I had a feeling, horrible river,” Dahl said, releaving his AJ holdings. Not many low cards involved in this hand, were there?

Battle of Malta 2026 Summer Edition Schedule – May 30 2026 – Ladies Event Takes Center Stage with Tickets Up for Grabs

Another massive day of poker action is on the horizon, with two further flights of the Main Event, and a HORSE tournament. As always, the chip leader of each individual flight of the Main Event will receive a package to the Battle of Malta Slovakia Edition.

The star of the show today however is undoubtedly the Ladies Event, which is always a huge hit at the Battle of Malta. The €150 buy-in event kicks off at 5 p.m., and players will sit down to a 20,000 starting stack and 20-minute levels. Late registration will remain open until the start of Level 11, and play will continue until a winner is crowned.

OlyBet are adding three €555 tickets to the Queens of Tallinn event in August 2026 to the prize pool. One will be given to the winner, one will console the pain of the player who bubbles, and one will be allocated by a random draw.

The full schedule for today is set out below.
