Day 3 of the 2024 Battle of Malta Autumn Edition Main Event was full of excitement as players battled for their share of the record-breaking €2,578,172 prize pool and hoped to position themselves to get to the final table on Day 4 and more. The day commenced with 290 players returning to the felt, all guaranteed at least €2,110 for their efforts. As the action heated up, it was Miguel Branco who emerged as the chip leader, boasting an impressive stack of 15,225,000 chips.
The atmosphere in Casino Malta and the Eden Arena at the Intercontinental Malta was electric as players not only battled in the Main Event but many side events including the €150 NLH Ladies Event hosted by FLIP and its founder Daiva Byrne. The €1,100 High Roller was so busy that it added a third day with a winner to be crowned tomorrow.
Alexandru Farcasanu and Pasquale Gregorio followed closely behind Branco with stacks of 13,575,000 and 12,875,000 respectively. Meanwhile, defending champion Vasileios Zisis continued to make his presence felt with a stack of 11,550,000 chips, and is on a serious sweat to become the first two-time champion of the Battle of Malta Main Event.
Meanwhile, Giuseppe Nacci hit the rail during the final moments and didn’t make the cut to the penultimate day with the action resuming for Day 4 at 1 p.m.
