Vasileios Zisis opened the pot with a min-raise from under the gun holding Q♣T♦, Davide Iannaco completed his small blind with K♣J♣, and Shervin Ghassemlou came along with K♦5♦ from the big blind.

A flop of 7♦8♦6♣ was good for the Brit, giving him plenty of ways to win the pot, as he check-raised Zisis’ continuation bet of 3,500,000. It was only 6,400,000 more to call for the Greek, bringing the pot to 27 million.

Ghassemlou was a big favorite to take down the pot, especially after a K♠ on the turn, as Zisis was left with two outs only. The river 2♠ secured a double up for Ghassemlou, who had now moved out of the danger zone.
