To eliminate any confusion, here are some facts about today.

The final opening flight is ongoing but it’s deep in the game with 142 players remaining and 127 players slated to earn their spots into Day 2 with at least a min-cash of €800. We will be updating the chip counts of the final flight before moving onto the full opening Day 2 chip counts and the Day 2 seat draw. We will do our best to have everything available for everyone within an hour after Day 1i has concluded.

Day 2 has changed its starting time and the action is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. As the BoM doesn’t want to make this a late evening for the players, today’s Day 2 will feature four blind levels instead of six with each blind level lasting one hour. The two pushed back levels will provide even extra play over the course of the tournament with Day 3 boasting 75-minute levels.

Additionally, the earliest blinds that an opening flight concluded were 4,000/8,000 with an 8,000 big blind ante and this will be the starting point for Day 2 according to the Tournament Director. There was a mention a few days ago in a summary post and elsewhere that it would be 2,000/4,000 to start but this was based on a placeholder and the reality of the event has always been that Day 2 will start at the earliest point one of the opening flights have ended. Our apologies if this wasn’t clear in our reporting as it was mentioned but not highlighted.

Meanwhile, before all this happens, the Battle of Malta players party will take place at The Eden across the street from Casino Malta. Players will form teams of six and compete in bowling and darts competitions with every player on the winning team awarded a free BoM Main Event ticket for 2025. There will be free food and drinks, so come join in on the fun.
