Level 16: 4,000/8,000 (8,000)
Entries: 45/297
With 47 players remaining, Sebastian Mortensen and Luis Mata clashed all in preflop, Mata being the player at risk with a stack consisting of 86,000.
Sebastian Mortensen: Q♥J♥
Luis Mata: A♦8♣
“I’ve been running pretty good on this table,” Mortensen said before the dealer revealed the flop. He didn’t lie; the board ran out J♠Q♣J♣J♦K♠, and he eliminated Mata with his “Quadhouse.”
Then, on the very next hand, Leonidas Georgopoulos found himself all in for 130,000 against Krzysztof Chmielowski. The latter was the original pre-flop raiser, and he had then tank-called the all in from Georgopoulos.
Leonidas Georgopoulos: Q♦J♦
Krzysztof Chmielowski: 8♥8♠
The board featured no broadway card, meaning Georgopoulos became the unfortunate bubble boy.
We’ll soon be back with full chip counts from Day 1b, as well as a recap of the day. Stay tuned!
