Play will continue well into the night here at Casino Malta and the Eden Arena at the Intercontinental Hotel. The Battle of Malta Main Event is down to 95 players and will continue until 45 remain. They’re now on level 12 with blinds of 1,000/2,500 and a 2,500 big blind ante.
The Mystery Siege of Malta is moving along quite quickly with just 26 players now left in contention for the €17,900 first prize. Day 1a overnight chip leader Jonathan Wong has recently been eliminated 29th place. Day 1c chip leader Michael Leng exited just afterwards in 28th place. Play is expected to conclude this evening.
Downstairs there are also still two tournaments running, one of which is a satellite to the Main Event and it’s a busy one with 212 entries so far and it’s only in level 3. The other event still in play is tonight’s €150 Hyperturbo by Eplay. No? Me neither! A field of 77 players assembled for this one and there are still 41 left in, with registration now closed.
Chris and Alek will continue the coverage into the night, but this particular reporter is feeling rather like Snoopy at this time of night. Stick a fork in me, I’m done!
