€600 may be a lot cheaper than many other big poker events, but its still a fair whack to cough up for most recreational players. But for just €70 it’s possible to gain entry into the Battle of Malta Main Event via one of the many satellites on the schedule.
There have already been three satellites so far during the festival, two on Wednesday and one earlier today. There’s another taking place at 10pm and more are planned for the forthcoming days.
All the remaining satellites are accumulator (milestone) format, where the player is awarded a seat when they have accumulated 100,000 chips. Players start with a 10,000 stack. Here’s the schedule of remaining Main Event satellites.
However there is a twist as some of the satellites enable players to win more than one seat. These are the ones listed as “accumulator” and in these, once a player has cashed out 100,000 for a seat they may continue to play on with any remaining chips and have a chance to win further seats. The satellites listed as “one time” only allow players to win one seat.
In yesterday’s accumulator satellite, one player managed to claim three seats. Not bad at all for a €70 buy-in.
