The next batch of former participants have now had their poker carcasses removed from the tournament floor. Meanwhile their souls have each collected €1,070 from the payout desk.
One of the first to depart once the money had edged up a little was James “Grogsy” Grogan, who fell in 181st place. He had returned with just over a starting stack, one of the shortest to make it into Day 2. Former Main Event Winner Daniel Barone saw his dreams of becoming a double champion shattered as he left the battlefield in 168th.
Jonathan Wong (167th), James Paris (151st) and Karina Ruiz (144th) also departed the tournament, just in time to hit the party!
