Battle of Malta Main Event Day 1a

They are now in level 8 600/1200 (1200) and there are 80 out of 131 entries still playing. The 75-minute dinner break will begin after level 9 and late registration will stay open until the end of level 10.

Recent exits include Matthew Micallef, Mark Attard. Bulgarian Martin Tsvetanov joined the field during the current level, as did Mark Vella, another well known Maltese player.

Mystery Siege of Malta Day 1a

Play has now slowed down considerably in the opening flight of the Mystery Siege. Just 19 of the remaining players will progress into day 2 and the mercurial Italian Fabio Peluso will not be among them, as he has recently exited in 41st place. Daniel Maunders, Daiva Byrne and Jonathan Wong are all still fighting to make it into the money.

The players are currently limbering up before the start of Day 1b, with over 30 players registered before play begins. More to follow on this later.

Downstairs

The early satellite is now over, but the PLO is still in play and on a break. Registration is now closed and the remaining 9 of the 23 starters remain to fight it out for the €1,840 first prize. Four players will make it into the prize money.

The Dark Knight is now on its first break of the day, So far 26 players have entered and there’s still four levels left for more players to join.
