You know, if actual wartime battles had late entry, I’m sure most people would turn up at the last possible moment. But that’s not always strategically the best approach in a deep stack poker tournament, as you can easily end up as cannon fodder on your first charge.

But you can also end up vanquished early-on even if you enter right at the start; and that’s exactly what happened to Ioannis Theodoropoulos and Michael Isiguzo, within the first 15 minutes of the kick-off. RIP, but it’s very likely they will rise again and have another go.
