Seated in the Hi-jack, Jorge Geraldes limped for 800. Filippo Intravaia (Button) and Kristian Dahl (Small Blind) both made the call before Sweden’s Johan Sundgren raised to 4,200. Geraldes was the sole caller.
Sundgren continued his pre-flop aggression with a 3,300 bet on the T♦8♥6♥, a bet that Geraldes elected to call. Sundgren didn’t slow down on the 4♣, as he now sized up to 7,000. Geraldes made the call within seconds.
The river was the J♠, and Sundgren didn’t see a reason to slow down. He fired a hefty 13,000 bet, and Geraldes decided to make the call.
Much to Geraldes’ disgust, Sundgren revealed his A♠J♥ holdings. Geraldes gesticulated his displeasure as he revealed the 6♦ before throwing his hand into the muck. After the hand, Sundgren told me he recently lost a big pot with straight against straight, but now, he was back on the ascend.
Johan Sundgren: 83,500
Jorge Geraldes: 59,000
