Former BOM runner up Daniel Maunders had the 3rd shortest chip stack at the start of the day with only 9,000 to his name. He was in seat 10 and with the button drawn to be on seat 5, he had only 4 hands before he would be on the big blind.
He didn’t waste any time, getting it all-in on the first hand, but his Q♥J♥ found itself up against A♥K♣. The board missed both players, but put an eight high straight down and the pot was split, pushing Daniel up to 19,000.
PostTwo hands later he was all-in again, from under-the-gun, with pocket twos. This time he would have been quite happy to see his opponent flip over 5-2, however a five on the flop made him a bug underdog in the hand. However he had picked up a gutshot, as the 5 was accompanied by 3 and a 6. The turn slapped the much needed four down on the board and with another split, Daniel moved up to 25,000.
The next hand was his big blind and ante, leaving him just 9,000 back. Third time wasn’t lucky for Daniel, as he was dominated by K♣T♣ holding K♥5♠. The flop brought another gutshot straight draw, but it missed and Daniel was sent packing, with a €900 payout for his 773rd place finish.
