- Richard Burke
The United Kingdom’s Richard Burke emerged victorious in the €250 H.O.R.S.E. after a dramatic and entertaining heads-up battle against Germany’s Sascha Manns, following the elimination of Italy’s Fabio Miraglia in third place for €700.
The final duel had everything you could hope for: experienced competitors, momentum swings, light-hearted table talk, and an engaged rail. Christoffer Karlen followed the action closely, catalogging key moments as the match unfolded.
Both players found themselves short-stacked at different stages in a gripping back-and-forth contest. Manns held a slight advantage late on, but with the blinds escalating, he ran into trouble in a crucial hand during Stud h/l. Burke made a flush while also holding a stronger low, denying Manns what he hoped would be a split pot.
Moments later, still during Stud h/l and blinds about to increase, the tournament reached its climax. Manns appeared to seize control on Seventh Street, improving to a pair of jacks against Burke’s nines. However, Burke still had one card to come, and found exactly what he needed, spiking two pair with nines and sixes to seal a memorable victory.
With that, Burke claimed the €1,760 top prize, while Manns settled for a well-earned €1,055 runner-up finish.
