A troop of local players have already won seats for the €1,000,000 guaranteed Battle of Malta by triumphing in a string of €55 live satellites at Casino Malta.
Casino Malta, which is hosting Battle of Malta in a brand new venue at the Intercontinental Hotel from October 25-30, is running numerous live satellites in the run up to the popular event – and eight local players have already won their way into the tournament.
The next two satellites at Casino Malta are tomorrow tonight (Monday, October 1) at 8pm, and Thursday at 8pm. Each satellite cost €55 + €5 to enter, with two seats guaranteed. Players kick off with a 25,000 starting stack with a single re-entry allowed up until late registration closes at the end of Level 6. The blind levels are 20 minutes.
It’s not just players in Malta that have been qualifying for the Battle of Malta either.
The Eden Leisure Group, which now owns Battle of Malta, has more than 100 gaming venues in seven different countries which has enabled players all over Europe to compete in live satellites for the €1,000,000 guaranteed, €550 buy-in Main Event.
This year’s Battle of Malta looks set to break all records with hundreds of online qualifiers already set to compete.
Casino Malta Operations Manager Diane Fenech said: “We have been overwhelmed at the response from casinos, poker sites and players themselves for this year’s Battle of Malta. This is an event that has broken its own record for Malta’s biggest poker tournament six years running and it has already sold more packages for 2018 than for all previous years combined.”
