And … we’re off! The players rushed in and the place is now buzzing like a bee hive, only imagine the buzz as a rattling of chips.
The tournament director has welcomed the participants, dramatic music has been played and our TV host Laura Cornelius has spoken the magic words: “Shuffle up and deal”.
We can’t say for sure just yet, but it already looks like this year could see another record size player field. Only one of them can take down the title. Is that player in this room today?
Don’t forget that on top of the regular events, today is also charity day, in the sense that there is the Pink October Charity event tonight. Buy-in for just ten Euro and play a 9-player SnG with none other than tennis legend Boris Becker! That will give you a chance to one of the other eight, and you’re helping a good cause. Not to forget how good this will be for your peace of mind.
But now, let’s go with the main event. There are 723 (!) players on the clock as the first hands are dealt. It’s only the beginning of the second out of four flights, and we have more than a thousand players already. Last year, day 1B had 780 players, so we should be able to beat that today.
