Former football pro Anthony Gardner was one of the last remaining big name players in the field but his luck at the tables was rather minuscule today.
He was massaging a short stack the entire time, only clinging on to life.
Now Gardner has lost his last all-in in this Battle of Malta Main Event.
After Boerge Dypvik opened from the button, Gardner moved all-in for roughly 9 big blinds with 9-8-suited.
Boerge called with T-T, had Gardner dominated and won the all-in after a couple of blanks on the board.
But hey, Gardner finished in position 183 which awards €1,550 Euros – a profit of €1k.
Not too shabby at all, really.
Is a spin up in the High Roller to follow?
