Welcome to the last starting day of the Battle of Malta 2018. The third flight is just about to start, and there are already more than a 1000 players on the clock.
The main hall is filling up, while on the side, the last satellite is running with another 300 players competing.
For the first time, there will also be a day 1D at the Battle of Malta. This one is a turbo flight with 15 min blinds, so it’s going to go twice as fast as the regular tournament. This flight will start at 9 PM today, so that’s your last chance to get a shot at the big money that’s going to be won this year.
With just over 2000 players in 2017, the winner Nadav Lipszyc took down €200,000 for his €550 investment. How much is it going to be this time? We’ll find that out when the registration closes, but it’s going to be a lot more.
We will guide you through the day and tell you what’s going on. There are also two side events today. Stay tuned for more information.
