The BoM Has Not Romained the Same

Romain Gravisse is probably one of the players who has witnessed the most how the Battle of Malta has evolved.

Indeed, the Frenchman has played only two editions — but they couldn’t be more different.

Gravisse played the second BoM where he finished 19th/888, and now this brand new one at Casino Malta.

“It’s unbelievable to see,” he said. “I think they can put the guarantee at €2 million next year!”

Romain actually left Malta and moved to Ashford in England (near London) soon after his cash in 2013, where he stayed for three years.

But his mood for poker wasn’t at his peak so he moved back to France to start real estate investments around Dax, in the region of Bordeaux.

The call of poker was too strong, though, and Romain just moved back to Malta – a better place to play online at the same time. Of course he then couldn’t miss playing the BoM again.

He’s now sitting behind a stack of 18 big blinds (“more or less the same all day”) but the plan is to double up quickly.

Romain will need to reach the Top 60 if he wants to improve on his result from 2013 in terms of prize money. But why not dream for more, Romain?
