“You destroyed him”, a player over at Roberto Caprio’s table exclaimed.
The Italian just single-handedly took out the former chip leader Ameed Khalil.
In hand we didn’t witness, he took half of Khalil’s stack.
With roughly 1m chips left, Khalil raised with K♣T♣ from early position to 60k. On the button, Roberto Caprio called with K♠J♠.
The flop fell T♠5♥2♠ and Khalil bet out with his top pair. Caprio called with two overs and a flush draw.
The turn realized the draw: 7♠. Now Khalil checked, Caprio bet 300k and Khalil instantly went all-in. With a hand close to the nuts Caprio had an easy call and left Ameed Khalil drawing dead.
The river was an inconsequential 2♣ and just like that, we have lost Ameed Khalil.
During this hand, we also lost Ilyaev Raul in 37th place.
Roberto Caprio – 3,500,000
Ameed Khalil – 0
Ilyaev Raul – 0
