It’s another beautiful sunny day on the majestic island of Malta. Despite the amazing weather, we expect a banner crowd on Day 1c of the €600 Main Event with a packed house expected at the Eden Arena at the Intercontinental Malta.

The lofty guarantee will be smashed today, most likely during the earlier Day 1c but it could happen during tonight’s Day 1d. So far, the field is up to 459 entries with 84 players finding a bag into Sunday’s Day 2 already in the money for at least a min-cash.

Today’s Day 1c will kick off at 1 p.m. with 40-minute blinds. Players will start with 30,000 in chips and can re-enter and late register until the start of the 13th blind level of the day. Players will bag chips after the field is down to 15 percent and get ready for battle on Day 2 on Sunday at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, the turbo Day 1d kicks off at 8 p.m. with a faster 20-minute clock while tomorrow morning boasts the final opening flight with Day 1e kicking off at 10 a.m.

Topping the charts was local Maltese player Christopher Grech who bagged up 564,000 on Day 1b. He is closely followed by Norway’s Vidar Oie who was the Day 1a chip leader after advancing with 556,000 in chips. Meanwhile, several other players on Day 1b cracked the top five on the leaderboard including Jeremy Bametz (463,000), Dimitrios Anastasakis (459,000), and Leonidas Georgopoulos (453,000).
