Day 3 of the €600 Battle of Malta Spring Edition Main Event, hosted by Casino Malta, saw 101 players return to the Eden Arena at Intercontinental Malta, out of the 1,814 total entries. They had all locked up €2,300 already but had to survive the day to have a chance at the lion’s share of the €913,349 prize pool, with all eyes fixed on the grand prize of €100,000.

The plan was to play down to 24 players or play six full levels, and it would be the former that happened first. Among those who advanced to Day 4 is the only Battle of Malta champion remaining, 2022 Spring Edition winner Giuseppe Rosa. The Italian player bagged 3,575,000 chips, good for 89 blinds when Day 4 kicks off.

His heap of chips was not big enough to take the lead, however, as that honor was bestowed upon Estonian player Rasmus Sepping. Sepping took the chiplead early on Day 3 when he over-bet his nut straight on the river and was called by two pair. Since then, he has not looked back and kept it throughout the very end of the day, resulting in a stack of 4,880,000 chips, a massive 122 big blinds at the start of Day 4. Sweden’s Erik Lindqwist and start-of-Day 3 chip leader Vasileios Zisis, meanwhile, are tied for second place with 3,650,000 chips.

Also in the top ten are Serbian Marko Luksa (3,125,000), who got 11th at BoM Autumn Edition 2023, and Swiss grinder Nico Frenn (2,675,000).

Others advancing to Day 4 include Polish regular Michal Janczarski (2,170,000), the last player from another continent Mehdi Rebai (1,650,000), the Greek duo of Fotos Ntamaris (1,525,000) and Dimitrios Gkatzas (1,335,000), and absolute short stack Modestas Kryzanauskas (260,000), who is the last Lithuanian standing after they have invaded the island of Malta for BoM.

Of course, 77 players had to say their goodbyes on Day 3, and among the fallen were the last lady Yuri Ishida from Japan (59th – €3,500), serial deep runner Antoine Talvard (32nd – €4,200), and final Maltese standing Luke Pace (29th – €4,930).

Eventually, with 25 players left, Sebastien Vincendeau got his underpair in against top set to bubble the final three tables and thus bring Day 3 to completion. The 24 remaining players will return for Day 4 on April 9 at 1 p.m. local time. They will restart in Level 26: 20,000/40,000 with a 40,000 big blind ante, with 43 minutes left on the clock.

Day 4 will see the field be brought down to a final table of eight players before they bag and tag for the live-streamed final day. Tra coloro che sono passati al Day 4 c’è l’unico campione del Battle of Malta rimasto, il vincitore della Spring Edition del 2022 Giuseppe Rosa. Il giocatore italiano ha imbustato 3.575.000 fiches, buone per 89 blinds quando il Day 4 prenderà il via.

Tuttavia, il suo mucchio di chip non è stato abbastanza grande per prendere il comando, poiché tale onore è stato conferito al giocatore estone Rasmus Sepping. Sepping ha preso il comando delle chip all’inizio del Day 3, quando ha puntato la sua scala nut sul river ed è stato chiamato da due coppie. Tra gli altri che avanzano al Day 4 ci sono il regular polacco Michal Janczarski (2.170.000), l’ultimo giocatore di un altro continente Mehdi Rebai (1.650.000), il duo greco composto da Fotos Ntamaris (1.525.000) e Dimitrios Gkatzas (1.335.000), e lo short stack assoluto Modestas Kryzanauskas (260.000), che è l’ultimo lituano in piedi dopo aver invaso l’isola di Malta per il BoM.

Il giorno 4 vedrà il campo ridursi a un tavolo finale di otto giocatori prima di imbustare e taggare per il giorno finale in diretta streaming. Lo staff del Battle of Malta vi racconterà in diretta tutta l’azione del Giorno 4 fino al tavolo finale.
