Day 1c of the 2024 Battle of Malta Spring Edition €600 Main Event, hosted by Casino Malta, was the busiest of them all, with 747 entries being made at the Eden Arena at Intercontinental Malta throughout the 12 levels of registration. Fifteen percent of the field would make it to Day 2 and secure a min-cash along the way, which meant that 112 contestants bagged and tagged their chips at the end of the grueling 15-and-a-half-hour day.

Among those who managed to do so is Dario Barone. Barone is the defending champion of the Spring Edition, winning the Main Event in 2023 for €156,500. He secured yet another cash by surviving the onslaught of Day 1c, but with 52,000 in his bag, he finds among the bottom of the chip counts and will have to put in some work on Day 2 to achieve back-to-back victories.

The same can not be said for chipleader Nicola Ciraolo, who ended the night with a monstrous 621,000 chips, larger than any stack on Day 1a or Day 1b. The Italian player has two final tables at Battle of Malta under his belt, with his largest-ever live cash of €10,000 stemming from a fourth place in a side event at BoM 2019, and will be looking for a third one in the Spring Edition Main Event. Ciraolo’s fellow countryman Itaco Voto finished second in chips with 581,000, while 2013 BoM side event winner Tomasz Olszewski from Poland completes the podium, ending up with 567,000 chips in his bag.

Meanwhile, those who still have not punched their ticket for Day 2 will have one last shot at 10 a.m. tomorrow, April 7. At that time the final flight kicks off, Day 1e. This turbo flight will know 20-minute levels and is expected to finish around 5 p.m., which is two hours before Day 2 begins. There will not be extensive live coverage of this flight, but full chip counts will be posted as always. Reporting will then resume at the start of Day 2, at 7 p.m. local time.

Il connazionale di Ciraolo, Itaco Voto, si è piazzato al secondo posto in termini di chip con 581.000, mentre il vincitore del side event del BoM 2013, il polacco Tomasz Olszewski, ha completato il podio con 567.000 chip.

Nel frattempo, coloro che non hanno ancora timbrato il biglietto per il Day 2 avranno un’ultima possibilità alle 10.00 di domani, 7 aprile. A quell’ora prenderà il via l’ultimo flight, il Day 1e. Questo turbo flight prevede livelli da 20 minuti e dovrebbe terminare intorno alle 17.00, ovvero due ore prima dell’inizio del Day 2.
