The 2024 Battle of Malta Spring Edition, hosted by Casino Malta, has been a roaring success, with the €500,000 guaranteed prize pool in the €600 Main Event being smashed to bits. Over six starting flights, 1,814 entries were made at the Eden Arena at Intercontinental Malta, creating a prize pool of €913,349, almost double the guarantee.

Of those 1,814 entries, 272 made it through to Day 2, all having secured an as-of-yet unknown min-cash. Leading the pack is Italian player Nicola Ciraolo, who is the only one who managed to put more than 20 starting stacks in his bag. With 621,000 chips to his name, gathered on Day 1c, he will have 155 big blinds to play with at the start of Day 2. 

Ciraolo is not the only big stack that Day 1c, by far the largest starting flight, produced, as Itaco Voto and Tomasz Olszewski complete the podium after bagging big on that same day, with 581,000 and 567,000 respectively. Meanwhile, Day 1b chipleader Christopher Grech (564,000) and Day 1a chipleader Vidar Oie (556,000) round out the top five. Also in the top ten is Salvatore Saracino (483,000), who clinched the chip lead in the last-minute Day 1e flight.

Day 2 will kick off at 7 p.m. local time, and typical for the amazing structure of the BoM Main Event, the blinds will be rolled back to 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 big blind ante. The length of the levels will be increased to 60 minutes each, and six of them are scheduled to be played, with the day ending around 1:30 a.m. after Level 21: 6,000/12,000 with a 12,000 big blind ante. The survivors will then bag and tag for Day 3, which will start bright and early at 1 p.m. on April 8.

L’edizione primaverile del Battle of Malta 2024, ospitata da Casino Malta, è stata un successo roboante, con un montepremi garantito di 500.000 euro per il Main Event da 600 euro che è stato fatto a pezzi. Ciraolo non è l’unico big stack che il Day 1c, di gran lunga il più grande flight di partenza, ha prodotto: Itaco Voto e Tomasz Olszewski completano il podio dopo aver fatto incetta di big nello stesso giorno, rispettivamente con 581.000 e 567.000. Nel frattempo, il chipleader del Day 1b Christopher Grech (564.000) e il chipleader del Day 1a Vidar Oie (556.000) completano la top five. Tra i primi dieci c’è anche Salvatore Saracino (483.000), che ha conquistato la testa delle chip nell’ultimo minuto del Day 1e.

Il Day 2 prenderà il via alle 19:00 ora locale e, come tipico della sorprendente struttura del Main Event del BoM, i bui saranno riportati a 2.000/4.000 con un ante di 4.000 big blind. La durata dei livelli sarà aumentata a 60 minuti ciascuno e sono previsti sei livelli, con la giornata che si concluderà intorno all’1:30 dopo il livello 21: 6.000/12.000 con 12.000 big blind ante. I sopravvissuti si imbusteranno per il Day 3, che inizierà alle 13:00 dell’8 aprile.
