ROLL UP LADIES!
The Poker League of Nations, the world’s largest women’s poker organization, is once again sponsoring the Battle of Malta Ladies Event. The €150 buy-in tournament is one of the flagship events of the forthcoming Battle of Malta which is taking place in April for the first time.
The Ladies Event is being held on Friday, April 22 at the InterContinental Conference Centre in St Julian’s. Players will get a 20,000 starting stack with unlimited re-entries through to the end of late registration (the end of level 10, 20 minute blind levels).
The Poker League of Nations has sponsored several Battle of Malta Ladies Events in the past. In 2017, Soile Lerviks of Finland took home a cash prize of €2,100 after she outlasted a field of 74 entries; the total prize pool was €6,548. In 2018, the tournament was won by Latvia’s Madara Sviksa for €2,533 after she beat a 104-entry field and, at the last live Poker League of Nations Ladies Event, Italian player Monica Poggi bested a field of 135 entries to win a €3,145 first prize. The total prize pool was €13,095.
The Battle of Malta festival takes place April 20 to 26 and, in addition to the Ladies Event, features a €500,000 guarantee Main Event, a High Roller tournament, bounty tournaments, turbos, PLO and much more. April is the perfect time to visit Malta with superb weather, stunning beaches and a wealth of tourist amenities. The Hotel InterContinental has hosted the Battle of Malta since 2018 and is the island’s largest 5* hotel.
Poker League of Nations (PLON) is an ‘International Alliance for Poker Excellence’ which was founded in 2017 with the aim of proactively increasing the participation of women in poker worldwide. PLON now has more than 7,400 members worldwide.
Battle of Malta will be following all necessary Covid guidelines during the seven-day festival to ensure the event is risk-free fun for both players and staff.
