The action started with the 2022 BoM Main Event winner Giuseppe Rosa raising from UTG to 1,600. Behind him, Vasilij Barna, who had fewer chips than that in his stack, called the raise and was all-in. From the button, Cory Desmond called the raise and the Small Blind called as well.

Giuseppe Rosa bet out 2,500 and Cory Desmond called. The player in the Small Blind elected to fold.

Now Rosa checked and Desmond slid 6,000 chips forward. Rosa quickly called.

Again Rosa checked and without missing a beat Desmond moved all-in for effectively 24,000. Rosa looked quite puzzled as this was a massive bet in an already big pot. Eventually, he decided to call and tabled A♦9♥ for top two. But his hand was not good as Desmond had flopped a straight with 7♥6♥.

Barna Vasilij, who was in the hand as well, mucked and was eliminated alongside Giuseppe Rosa who will have to re-enter to defend his title in the Battle of Malta Spring Edition.
