In the middle of the tournament area we just witnessed a substantial clash between Mario Panarello and Andrea Mussumarra.

After three raises back and forth before the flop, there were 12k in the middle with the board showing 7♣6♣3♦. Mussumarra checked from the Small Blind and Panarello moved all-in from the Cut-Off for about 25k. He had Mussumarra barely covered.

Mussumarra needed some time to make up his mind but eventually called the overbet. He showed QXQX, but was way behind Panarello’s KXKX. Neither turn nor river brought Mussumarra any help and he had to forfeit his place in the tournament.
