Lithuania’s Daiva Byrne, also known as “Baltic Blonde” is in the house and already in action on Day 1b of the €600 Main Event with a little more than a starting stack.

She traveled to Malta with her husband John to host the €150 FLIP Ladies Event on Sunday. She shared that she will try to bag a stack for Day 2 of the Main Event today while John is “busy” soaking in the rays at the rooftop pool.

Byrne was the founder of one of the most popular poker groups on Facebook in FLIP. What’s more impressive is that this large group is for women only, which makes tons of sense considering Byrne’s background in pushing ahead important initiatives for ladies throughout the many years she has been involved in poker.

For the first time, the Ladies Event will have its final table live-streamed. While, this author, Jason Glatzer, will be the main commentator for both that table and the final table of the Main Event a few days later, I asked Byrne whether she would join me in the booth.

“I’d be happy to join the comms if I am not still either in the Main Event or on the Ladies Event final table,” said Byrne with a smile.

While we would love to have Byrne join us to commentate on the Ladies Event final table, we hope that she won’t as this will mean she has busted both events. Rest assured, if Byrne does go deep in either event, we will certainly do our best to have at least one lady join in as a guest commentator until a winner is crowned on Sunday evening.

La lituana Daiva Byrne, nota anche come “Baltic Blonde”, è in casa e già in azione nel Day 1b del Main Event da €600 con poco più di uno stack iniziale.

Si è recata a Malta con il marito John per ospitare il €150 FLIP Ladies Event di domenica. La Byrne ha dichiarato che oggi cercherà di accumulare uno stack per il Day 2 del Main Event, mentre John è “impegnato” a godersi i raggi del sole nella piscina sul tetto.

Byrne è stata la fondatrice di uno dei gruppi di poker più popolari su Facebook, FLIP. La cosa più impressionante è che questo grande gruppo è riservato alle donne, il che ha molto senso se si considera il background di Byrne nel portare avanti iniziative importanti per le donne durante i molti anni in cui è stata coinvolta nel poker.

Per la prima volta, il Ladies Event avrà il suo tavolo finale in live-streaming. Mentre questo autore, Jason Glatzer, sarà il commentatore principale sia per quel tavolo che per il tavolo finale del Main Event qualche giorno dopo, ho chiesto alla Byrne se si sarebbe unita a me in cabina.

“Sarei felice di unirmi alle comunicazioni se non fossi ancora nel Main Event o nel tavolo finale del Ladies Event”, ha risposto Byrne con un sorriso.

Anche se ci piacerebbe che Byrne si unisse a noi per commentare il tavolo finale del Ladies Event, speriamo che non lo faccia perché questo significherebbe che è stata eliminata da entrambi gli eventi. Se Byrne dovesse andare a fondo in uno dei due eventi, faremo del nostro meglio per avere almeno una donna come commentatrice ospite fino all’incoronazione del vincitore domenica sera.
