Lithuania’s Tadas Stasiulis had around 24 big blinds when he called off a jam by the table captain. His big slick proved to be no good against a pocket pair to hit the rail during hand-for-hand play at the end of Day 1a of the 2024 Battle of Malta Spring Edition Main Event when players were playing down to 15 percent of the field.

The returning players all made the money, but Stasiulis at least got a freeroll despite missing out on advancing to Day 2 through Day 1a thanks to the bubble protection provided by PokerHopper.com.

Stasiulis got a little lucky as the bubble protection is only paid on the pure bubble. Two other players were all-in with shorter stacks and also hit the rail allowing Stasiulis to get his €600 Main Event buy-in back.
